From London Ontario, Kayla Ng was first introduced to volleyball through the Forest City Volleyball Club when she was 14. She received the OVA Award of Excellence in her first year and continued to be a member of FCVC for 4 years as a setter. During those four years, Kayla attended Sir Frederick Banting Secondary School and played for the school volleyball team, attending WOSSA in both her final years and was awarded the Ms. Volleyball Award of the Central West division. She was then recruited by the University of Waterloo to play setter for the Warriors.

Kayla began playing beach volleyball at age 17 and since then has spent the past 3 summers training in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with two of the top Brazilian beach volleyball coaches. In Brazil Kayla practiced twice a day and played in the Brazilian beach volleyball circuit, facing some fierce tournament competition. The past two summers Kayla travelled back to Canada with her beach partner to play in the 2008 and 2009 Nationals, finishing 5th in the U19 and U21 divisions.

Kayla is currently finishing up her 2nd year at the University of Waterloo, studying Kinesiology and plans to continue playing beach volleyball this summer while preparing herself for another indoor season with the Waterloo Warriors. She hopes that as a young coach, she can teach some volleyball skills through her own experiences and learn some new things as well!
