Geoff White started his volleyball career at the young age of 15 when he was selected to the Ontario Provincial Indoor team. Five years later, with a Canada Summer Games Gold Medal and an OUA Rookie of Year he left McMaster University to play for the Senior Men's National Indoor Team in a bid to qualify for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Geoff was the player of the game against Argentina while on tour with the National Team in Quebec.

When reflecting back on his experience in the Canadian volleyball system and where the sport is now, Geoff believes that “Beach is the most effective path to develop our young athletes in Canada. It provides the repetition necessary to develop ball control & court sense while not putting the strain on the body that indoor does. In hindsight, I wish I had transitioned to the beach game much earlier in my career, and I believe that it is not only in the athlete's best interest to start focusing on the beach game at a young age, but also in the interest of Canada's elite volleyball programs. I feel that the future trend will see our top beach athletes transitioning to the indoor national team rather than the other way around.

Geoff is currently a Chartered Accountant working in the London area.
