Melissa "Missy" Mann began playing indoor volleyball in grade seven and shortly
thereafter was playing competitive for London's club team. She had always watched
her sister play growing up and immediately took a genuine interest which has developed
into one of her life's passions.
During her years on the London club team, Missy was chosen to lead her peers as captain
and went on to win regionals. After high school, she continued her career at the
University of Western Ontario where she excelled as an athlete and won an OUA Championship.
She was once again chosen to be captain and was named All-Canadian for leading in kills for the country.
It was during her first year at University that Missy was introduced to beach volleyball.
Her knowledge of the indoor game along with her volleyball skills helped her to become a natural on the beach.
She has been successful in competing in many OVA beach tournaments and has taken an interest in
promoting and coaching beach volleyball in the London region.
Missy's passion for volleyball has given her the opportunity to play and travel around the
world from Eastern to Western Canada, the United States and half way across the globe to New Zealand.
As well as coaching for the BVA, she coaches for the Forest City Volleyball Club and as a teacher,
always looking for opportunities to coach school teams.
As an outdoor enthusiast, Missy is always looking for adventure and can be found spending
most of her days in Port Stanley during the summer months.
